We never work two competitors’ leads against each other. In Houston that’s 3 for wallpaper, 3 for handyman, 3 for TV mounting, and so on. If your competitor takes the spot first, it’s theirs.

Who replies to my customers?

The first “Hello <name>!” goes out automatically the moment a lead arrives, so Thumbtack sees a fast response. The real reply comes from our dispatcher, 24/7. The AI reads the conversation, drafts replies and proposes the booking — but it never signs a price. A price reaches your customer only when a person presses for it, from your sheet; anything off it waits for your OK.

How do you bring silent leads back?

When a customer stops answering, the desk follows up after 4 hours, after a day and after three days. The series stops the moment they answer, book or say no. After the third, the lead is closed as “stopped answering”, so nobody keeps chasing a customer who has gone.

Is my Thumbtack account safe?

You connect through Thumbtack’s own sign-in (OAuth): you approve access on Thumbtack, and we never see or store your Thumbtack password. With it we can see your leads and customer messages, send replies, register your business number and report a job as scheduled, done or paid. We never edit your profile. You can disconnect at any time — disconnecting tells Thumbtack to revoke our access and wipes the stored key.

What does it cost?

$399 a month month-to-month, or $299 a month when you pay for six months up front. One Thumbtack account per client. The Grow beyond Thumbtack add-on is $699/mo. Thumbtack still charges you for leads as it does today. See Price.

Why only 3 per trade?

The desk works one city’s leads for a few pros per trade. If we took every TV mounter in Houston, we would be answering the same customers for competing pros — and you would be competing with yourself through us. 3 per trade per city keeps that from happening.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Booked job cards arrive in Telegram on your phone today; WLT Desk, our own messenger with push alerts, is being added. Everything else runs in the browser.

What happens after I apply?

We check whether a spot is open for your trade in your city. If it is, we call or text you for a short call about your area and prices, then send a Connect link for your Thumbtack account. Nothing is connected and nothing is charged before that call.
